Sports Meet
The inaugural function of the Annual Sports and Cultural Meet of the NIST is held every year in the college stadium. The college always emphasizes that active sports and upholding of the Culture are essential parts of an Integral System of Education in Human Values. On this day every year, the college, for an exhibition of events demonstrating a high degree of perfection, co-ordination and skill.
The Meet is inaugurated by the Chairman of the college lighting the Sports meet torch followed by March Past by the students of all departments, extraordinary feats of adventure, colorful and artistic group performances and well coordinated. The various cultural, sports and games competitions in the campus like cricket , badminton, volley ball, throw ball , tennis etc, culminate in the Valedictory and Prize Distribution Function.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPORTS MEET
- The participants/team should report before the respective game/event in-charge 15 minutes prior to the game/event and the presence of the captain of the event is a must and if not they will be disqualified and the opposite team will be declared as winner.
- Umpire decision is final and the players are strictly instructed to maintain discipline with no arguments. If any in-discipline is noticed suitable action will be initiated against the participant/team besides declaring the opponent team as winner.
- The proposed dress code for the outdoor game/event is White T-Shirt with collared, track pant & shoes. No deviation will be entertained in any case.
- The proposed dress code only at the time of event/game.
- Umpires will give suitable directions at the time of TOSS.
- Points awarding system is designed on event /game/sport basis. Overall championship will be decided on this basis .The details are furnished below.

- The department who achieves overall Championship (based on the points of win) will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000/-besides a trophy.
